On April 24th, the 22nd World Dredging Conference entered the agenda for the second day. A number of special sessions were held in the “Ecological Dredging· Future Ocean·Sustainable Development” forum, and more than 40 academic papers were exchanged during the period.

The special report was followed by the second main forum of the conference: “Ecological Dredging·Future Ocean·Sustainable Development” Summit Forum.

Shi Hongda, Executive Vice President and Professor of China Ocean University, presided over the forum. Robert, director of production engineering at the Great Lakes Dredging Company, believes that sustainable development is equal to safety, cooperation, efficiency, and resilience.


Pan Xinchun, Secretary-General of the China Ocean Development Foundation and Director of the Institute of Marine Spatial Planning, gave a report entitled "Marine Economy and Sustainable Development"

Bao Qifan, Dean and Professor of International Shipping Logistics Research Institute of East China Normal University, gave a report titled "The Utilization of Dredged Soil Resources in the Yangtze River Estuary and the Construction of Shanghai Ecological Space"


Hou Xiaoming, director of the Technical Expert Committee of China Dredging Association and chairman of CCCC Shanghai Waterway Bureau Co., Ltd., believes that the dredging industry should be aware of the situation, adapt to the situation, and achieve sustainable development.

Exchange of Papers
